Howdy and
welcome to the first Newsletter of 2009 from Akeni Rose Imaging! We
hope that every one of you had a joyous Christmas and are experiencing
a prosperous New Year this year. With the coming of the New Year,
Akeni Rose Imaging has some announcements to make.

JANUARY SPECIAL ON LARGE FORMAT PRINTS
The
boys in the lab have informed me that during the month of January, they
will be making those "large format" prints for half price! That means
any print that is sized 16x20 or larger will be HALF PRICE for the
month of January. That means that you can get a 16x20 Print for a mere
$29.46. Printed on superior Kodak Endura E paper, you cannot touch
this quality at this price! Half price special is good on prints up to
30x40. Akeni Rose Imaging will even sweeten the deal by offering 25%
off all mounting for your super-sized prints! And just for fun, we
will throw in a surface texture or coating of your choice for free!
(Brush Texture and Laminates are excluded from this offer). If you
have a favorite photo at home that you have always wanted to have a
high quality professional large format print of, drop me a line and you
can upload your file to me. I will make any necessary or requested
corrections before it goes to the lab. This offer expires January
31st, so in order to take advantage of it, you have to act in time for
me to get this to the lab by January 31st.
By the way, for
such a short promotion, I am not going to set up a special pricing page
on the website for this offer. As complicated as the software is to do
that, the special would be over by the time I got the Print Site set up
properly. Contact me directly if you want to take advantage of the
Large Format Special.
RUN AND SHOOT WEDDINGS
Last
month, Akeni Rose Imaging shot a really exciting outdoor wedding last
month in 40 mile per hour winds. We shot it in a "Run And Shoot"
fashion, which is to say, we shot during the wedding and were all over
the place getting angles and shots that would make for some really
great photos. Our client was very pleased with the photos! After
doing some research into Wedding Photography expenses, I have yet to
see the logic in why someone would pay several thousand dollars for a
collection of really nice photos that the photographer deemed were
acceptable for you to see and then charge an arm and a leg for prints.
Akeni Rose Imaging now offers a Wedding Photography Service that will
not bankrupt you or require you to take out a second mortgage on your
house. I call it the "Wedding Photography Run And Shoot Copyright
Purchase Special". My marketing director is having fits with that name
and is feverishly working up a simple title that conveys the fact that
Akeni Rose Imaging wants to give you complete control over your
photographs and your photographer... as well as all the pictures taken
at the Wedding.
Simply put, Akeni Rose Imaging will shoot your
wedding. That means before, during (if you wish) and after! You call
the shots. We meet prior to the wedding and you let us know exactly
what shots you want. I promise you will get them, plus tons of others
you may not have thought of. The best part is that a "copyright
purchase" is included in the price! This means that you will own the
copyright to the photos taken at the wedding. You do not have to order
your prints from me or my lab! If Wal Mart, CVS, Wolf, or any of those
others are easy for you to use, then you have that right! Within a few
days of the wedding, you will receive a CD-ROM of every picture taken
by our photographers. They will be unedited, but they are yours to do
with as you please. No messy copyrights to worry about! You can still
use Akeni Rose Imaging to edit and print the really special photos from
your wedding, in large format, gallery wraps, fine art prints, or any
other service we offer.
We are still working up the verbiage
and marketing aspects of this new package, so it is not visible on the
website yet. If you need a wedding photographer anytime soon (before
we get the web page set up), just give us a call or drop us an EMAIL.
If you are getting married in the DFW Area, we will get your Wedding
Photography handled for well under a grand! We have even been booked
to do one of these wedding shoots in Houston, so if you live outside
the DFW Area, even with the travel expenses involved, Akeni Rose
Imaging will still be a better deal for you! Just give us a call for
an estimate.
AND SPEAKING OF WEDDINGS.....
Why
are there so many weddings in June? Akeni Rose Imaging has partnered
with individual wedding planner and consultant Marla Niles of Corsicana
Texas. Marla is an extremely talented and well connected, well
organized event planner. She is available for consultations and
questions pertaining to her services. Marla is very detail oriented
and puts a lot of time into her projects, so if you are interested in
her services, make sure you contact her well ahead of your event!
Perfection cannot be thrown together overnight! If you are interested,
just drop us a line here and we will get you in touch with Marla.
IT MUST BE THE ECONOMY...
Surprise
surprise! A price increase. Not a big one, but a price increase
nevertheless. Effective January 2009, there has been an increase in
print services. Some substantial, many not so big at all. All events
on the Akeni Rose Print Site prior to January 1st will not be affected
by this price increase. However, shipping has also been affected.
Sorry to say that the shipping and handling fee will increase to $7.50
per order. Even if you choose to pick up your work here at Akeni Rose
Imaging, or have me hand deliver it to you, the shipping and handling
price is still $7.50.
VALENTINES DAY SPECIAL
Create
a special memory that will preserve St. Valentine's day forever! Book
an appointment for some romantic photography! Break out that beautiful
dress, or that sexy lingerie, or whatever tickles your fancy! Private
studio sessions will be available from now until February 15th. During
that time, Akeni Rose Imaging will discount all studio shoots done at
my place. Pay $45 for your 1 hour shoot. A $10 savings. If you would
rather shoot at your place or another romantic location, I will come to
you for $45.00, a $20 savings. Feel free to hire me to shoot your
romantic photos in the Virgin Islands! (Yes, you cover my travel
expenses!) Lastly, if needed, I can bring my whole portable studio to
your location for $75.00, a $20 savings. Additional hours are $20.00,
regardless of the location.
Need your hair and make up done
for you? Akeni Rose Imaging has an outstanding licensed Make Up Artist
and Hairstylist that can get you the look you want! She is $50 for a
session here at the Apartment Studio and $75 off site. Make sure you
check out Becca's information on the website to learn more about her!
If your desired shots require you to be a little too revealing, I
reserve the right to have a female assistant present during the shoot.
Becca or another female member of the staff may attend your shoot,
depending on what you are wanting to shoot.
DON'T FORGET OUR CHOREOGRAPHED PHOTO DVD SERVICE!
If
you have a special event or period of time in your life that you have
documented on photographs and would like to have a special DVD created
for them, you need to check out AFTERIMAGES. Akeni Rose Imaging can
take your event photos and choreograph them to the music of your
choice. The DVD can be as simple as a slide show set to music, or as
complex as an exciting visual spectacle with high speed sequencing,
special effects, text boxes, video overlays, and almost anything else
